We’re excited to be at the upcoming American Hotel & Lodging Association Responsible Stay Summit in Washington D.C. to participate in discussions around what’s next for sustainability in hospitality.

From local BEPS regulations to energy efficiency strategies, there’s a lot in play for fellow members of the AHLA Sustainability Committee. Particularly, we are focused on conversations around compliance and climate risk and hoping to engage in discussions around how sustainability practices can improve bookings.

We’re also looking for Building Performance Standards to take center stage at Wednesday’s Sustainability Committee meeting, with hotel groups discussing their efforts to stay compliant without suffering fines. We expect the Energy and Water subcommittee to make good progress on its efforts to issue best practices guidance for energy water efficiency in hotels.

For the Responsible Stay Summit, programming will focus on sustainability topics like Climate Risk, and ways that marketing sustainability practices can improve bookings. This will hit home for us, as our work at InSite sits directly within the intersection of efficiency and value.
