The Challenge

In 2014, the Brigham Utility and Engineering Team needed help to identify efficiency opportunities to reduce their $20M annual utility spend at its main campus. In 2022, the Shapiro Cardiovascular Center was added to the 3 million square foot campus in Boston, Massachusetts.

In a large facility with limited staffing and tens of thousands of points that could be monitored, an outside resource was needed to keep a focused eye on facility operations and deliver consistent reports. The goal was to facilitate a deeper understanding of which issues require attention that the operations team might otherwise not quickly detect.
